Cliste Hospitality Commits to Fáilte Ireland’s ‘Pathway to 45%’ Climate Action Programme

Cliste Hospitality has formally committed to the Pathway to 45, a national climate action initiative led by Fáilte Ireland, aimed at reducing carbon emissions in the tourism and hospitality sector by 45% by 2030. The programme forms part of the national tourism authority’s wider Climate Action Programme, designed to support the decarbonisation and long-term environmental resilience of the sector.

As part of this commitment, Cliste has launched a five-year internal sustainability strategy focused on operational energy reductions, capital investment in low-emission technologies, and continuous data monitoring across its portfolio of hotels and food & beverage venues.

Cliste Hospitality’s participation in Pathway to 45 reflects its wider ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) strategy, which prioritises operational sustainability, workforce wellbeing, and inclusive economic growth. This latest commitment builds on existing environmental practices across Cliste-managed properties and represents a formal step toward decarbonisation targets aligned with Ireland’s national Climate Action Plan.

By embedding sustainability into day-to-day operations and capital planning, Cliste aims to enhance both environmental performance and long-term asset value, while helping future-proof the Irish hospitality sector against rising energy costs, climate risk, and regulatory change.
