Fork & Wheel Restaurant Opens in Midleton
12 October 2024 – Cliste Hospitality has opened a new food and beverage venue, Fork & Wheel, on the Midleton–Youghal Greenway in East Cork. The project involved the full redevelopment of the former Two Mile Inn site, which had been vacant for several years, and marks another strategic investment by Cliste in the transformation of underutilised hospitality assets in regional Ireland.
Fork & Wheel operates across three distinct yet integrated areas: a modern all-day restaurant with breakfast, lunch, dinner and brunch services; a café serving 5 Mile Coffee roasted on-site alongside fresh bakes and light fare; and a traditional Irish pub with a casual menu and regular live music. Designed to serve both local residents and visitors, the concept blends regional heritage with a contemporary approach to service, layout, and brand experience.
The location—just off the Midleton Greenway—gives the venue visibility and access to a growing flow of cyclists and leisure visitors, as well as weekday footfall from the expanding residential population in the town. The site has been fully reconfigured for operational efficiency and guest flexibility, enabling trade throughout the day and across multiple customer profiles.
The venue will create 25 new job opportunities for Midleton across culinary, service, and management functions. Produce and drinks are sourced predominantly from regional East Cork suppliers, in line with Cliste’s local procurement principles. The brand identity and interior design works were all completed in-house by Cliste Hospitality’s commercial and marketing teams. Drawing inspiration from East Cork’s industrial and agricultural heritage, aligning with Cliste Hospitality’s approach to site-specific F&B brand development.
The opening reflects Cliste’s continued focus on hospitality management services that generate long-term asset value. By combining site selection, brand development, and operational oversight, the group continues to scale its F&B portfolio across Ireland’s urban and regional markets. Fork & Wheel serves as a blueprint for similar projects involving the repositioning of disused properties into commercially viable, locally embedded hospitality destinations.
