Cliste Hospitality Announces Strategic Partnership with Padel100
Cliste Hospitality has announced a strategic partnership with Padel100, bringing one of the world’s fastest growing sports to hotels across our portfolio. The partnership begins at Radisson Blu Hotel & Spa, Limerick, where three professional standard outdoor padel courts are now open, with a further Cliste Hospitality location on track to open before year end.
Padel has moved rapidly from an emerging leisure trend to a global participation sport, with The International Padel Federation estimates that more than 35 million people now play worldwide, with the number of clubs increasing by 16.1% and courts by 15.2% in 2025 alone. More than 14,000 new courts were developed during the year, bringing the global network to over 77,000 across 150 countries.
That growth reflects a broader consumer shift towards active, social and experience led leisure, creating an interesting opportunity for hospitality operators to reconsider how hotel assets can respond.
From Hotel Amenity to Local Demand Generator
Padel builds on an established leisure and wellness proposition across the Cliste Hospitality portfolio, which today includes five spas alongside swimming pools, fitness clubs, and outdoor family leisure facilities. The opportunity is to extend these experiences beyond the overnight guest, creating new reasons for local communities to engage with our hotels and their wider food, beverage, leisure and wellness offering. To mark the opening of the first three courts at Radisson Blu Hotel & Spa, Limerick, 100 hours of complimentary court time are being made available to the community during the first month. which are redeemable on a means-tested basis through our partner Padel100’s website.
With more than 35 million people now playing padel globally, Cliste Hospitality is translating a proven global leisure trend into the Irish hotel market. Our perspective on the investment will dually strengthen a regional hotel’s relevance to local market consumers, as well as enhancing real estate value as pointed to in Playtomic and PwC’s recent study on the economics behind padel.
Commenting on the partnership, Chris Austin, COO, Cliste Hospitality, said:
“Our partnership with Padel100 is a deliberate step in expanding our wellness experiences across the Cliste Hospitality portfolio. By working with a specialist operator like Padel100, we are introducing a high-growth sport into a hotel environment in a way that is commercially meaningful for our properties, enchances residential guest experiences, and creates a new amenity for local communities in our regions.”
Ben Keohane, Founder & CEO, Padel 100 added:“Our vision is simple, to make padel accessible in every county in Ireland. Partnering with leading hotel brands like Radisson Blu, through Cliste Hospitality, allows us to deliver on that vision faster, while giving guests and locals alike the opportunity to enjoy the world’s fastest-growing sport.”
